Zonta Club of the Coos Bay Area has announced its scholarship winners for the year 2010-11. The awards were given on June 17th at the Zonta Club meeting at the Red Lion in Coos Bay. An unprecedented $11,750 was awarded this year! The Scholarship Committee had an amazing number of qualified applicants to choose from. It was a difficult decision but we narrowed it down to these fabulous young women.

There were two $1,000 Memorial Scholarships. One was awarded to Maegan Childs of Coos Bay and one to Brenda Vest also of Coos Bay.

There were four Zonta Club $1,500 scholarships. Chloe Eberlein of Coos Bay, Karen Fowler of North Bend, Kristina Hossley of North Bend, and Allyen Pride of Myrtle Point were the recipients.

Wendi Smith was the recipient of the Jane M. Klausman $1,500 Women in Business Scholarship.
