A&J Archery opens indoor range, tech shop in Business Center incubator
Archery enthusiasts in Coos Bay/North Bend and throughout the south coast region won’t have to practice their technique and aim in the outdoors this winter. Jim Posekany and Athena Nelson have opened A&J Archery at the Business Center incubator, 2455 Maple Leaf in North Bend.  Posekany of Coos Bay has been involved in competitive and recreational archery for 25 years, previously having worked as a tech in an archery business. The full-service A&J Archery features Posekany’s arrow manufacturing skills, along with bow set-up, repairs and tuning. Retail stock currently includes high-dollar releases and sights, veins, broadheads and four types of arrow shafts.  “You’re only as good as your arrows,” Posekany said.  The shop eventually will add several lines of bows. In addition, the couple has developed an indoor shooting range with viewing windows. Posekany also plans to offer lessons and begin sponsoring shooting leagues.  A&J Archery will be open from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. For information, Posekany can be reached at 541-888-6937.  The Business Center at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport offers low-cost rent and business management assistance to start-up manufacturing businesses. It is a partnership between the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay, Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Center and Southwest Oregon Regional Airport. For more information about business assistance programs offered at the Business Center, call 541-756-6866.
