Today, July 7, 2011, Star of Hope Activity Center and South Coast Hospice Thrift Store joined forces. South Coast Hospice generously donated space and services for Star of Hope to display and sell their hand woven rugs. The proceeds of the rug sales will go towards the Star of Hope. This is a terrific example of community partnership between two non-profit organizations.

The Star of Hope hand woven rugs are made of recycled materials such as chenille, denim, cotton and plastic shopping bags. The shopping bags are great for outside mats and can be hosed off to clean. All the others wash up great in the washer and dryer! Rugs may be custom ordered at the Oregon Connection also. www.oregonconnection.com

It takes commitment to learn the skill of hand weaving rugs. Many of the people in Star of Hope programs have developed this skill and created their own weaving career or business. www.star-of-hope.com

South Coast Hospice is a quality thrift store at 1955 Meade Street in North Bend. Every dollar you spend and every item donated helps the South Coast Hospice and Palliative Care program in Coos County. www.southcoasthospicethriftstore.com . phone541-269-9611.

A huge thank you to South Coast Hospice Thrift Store for donating their time and space to assist the Star of Hope rug weaving program.
