FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE United Way of Southwestern Oregon is seeking local service clubs and other groups and individuals interested in helping seniors and persons with disabilities during this year's Day of Caring, scheduled for Saturday, April 30th. The annual event brings volunteers in the Bay Area together to mow lawns, trim bushes, carry away trash and do other manual labor jobs for seniors and persons with disabilities unable to do the work themselves. Last year 15 groups with over 100 volunteers helped at 41 homes. United Way Day of Caring Chair Jayson Wartnik, CPA, Hough, MacAdam & Wartnik, noted “it's great to come together as a community and help those in need. Not only does it brighten their day, but it's a very rewarding experience that makes a real difference so we hope to have a large turnout for this year's effort.” If you or your organization are interested in helping, contact United Way of Southwestern Oregon at (541) 267-5202 or uwswo@frontier.com.
