COOS BAY, OR – The Transitional Education Department-College and Career Transitions at Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC) will be offering GED Preparation, College and Career Preparation, and College Placement Test Preparation this spring term. This class will prepare you for the GED exam and improve your reading, writing, math and computer skills for college credit classes and employment. Orientation is scheduled for March 21-25 and April 25-29 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Newmark Center, Room 215, on the Coos Campus. All new students must attend the five-day orientation. Individualized schedules will be created for each student between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. There will also be an Open Study lab available to every student from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost per term is $25. Interested individuals should call 541-888-7116 with questions and to enroll for the spring classes. Evening GED classes are also available in Myrtle Point. GED classes online are also available. Spring term runs March 28 through June 9.
